Carriere Freres Candle - Damask Rose
Inspired by exotic botanicals these candles not only look and smell beautiful but have an interesting history. Carrière Frères Industrie was founded in 1884 in Paris, by two inquisitive and entrepreneurial brothers. It was the beginning of the industrial revolution that the Carrière brothers pioneered a new era of wax-making – they created a candle that burned for 6 hours, with a constant beam of light and without smoke. Their work was awarded and this saw the generic indoor candle turn into an object of comfort and quality. They sourced the finest waxes, and most durable wicks and worked closely with their interest in botanics to bring a range of quality candles to the masses. This wax and recipe is still being used today – they are smoke-free, long burning and free of any paraffin’s or petrochemicals.
Damask Rose – Discovered in Turkey, the Damascus rose was praised in Syria for its elegance and the finesse of its scent. All over the world, the rose is celebrated as the Queen of Flowers. The rose has healing virtues and is all powerful : it is the symbol of love, beauty, and their frailty.
